Garuda Indonesia has introduced several initiatives to enhance international connectivity and redistribute tourism across the Indonesian archipelago. In collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Mastercard, the airline launched the ‘Garuda Indonesia Stopover Program’. This initiative allows eligible long-haul and regional passengers to add domestic connecting flights to participating destinations at no additional cost, aiming to move tourist spending away from concentrated hubs like Bali and Jakarta toward regional areas such as Lake Toba, Borobudur, Mandalika, and Labuan Bajo. To further support the travel experience, the airline partnered with Yoowifi Indonesia to offer eSIM services covering over 160 countries, allowing passengers to arrange internet access prior to departure. Building on its service expansion, the airline’s loyalty program, GarudaMiles, received international recognition at the 2026 Frequent Traveler Awards and Loyalty Summit in Chicago. The program won in the categories of ‘Best Airline Customer Service’ and ‘Airline Loyalty Program of the Year’, marking its second consecutive year of such honors.
