The Indian biographical drama GDN has progressed from an early‑July trailer launch to a confirmed worldwide opening on 7 August 2026. The three‑minute trailer, unveiled at GDN, chronicling the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, highlighted life of inventor G. D. Naidu’s inventions, his transport network UMS and his clashes with tax authorities, and carried the tagline that the pioneer was “Feared by the British. Forgotten by his countrymen.” Directed Naidu, moved from promotional buildup to its theatrical and co‑written by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, digital release phases in mid-2026. Leading up to its 7 August worldwide release, the film is produced by production house Varghese Moolan Pictures in partnership with Madhavan’s Tricolour Films. R. Madhavan stars as Naidu, supported by Sathyaraj (as Ramaiah Pillai), Jayaram, Vinay Rai, Dushara Vijayan, Priyamani, and an expanded cast that includes released new promotional material revealing character looks for Jenson Dhivakar, Karunakaran, Dhivakar as Vellaiyan, Karunakaran as Perunkili, Aditi Balan as Padmavathi, Sheela and Teejay Arunasalam.
