Authorities and organizations in Mato Grosso are engaging in institutional efforts to address various forms of violence against women. Initial efforts focused on domestic and family violence within indigenous communities. The Operational Support Center for Studies of Domestic and Family Violence against Women and Gender (CAO VD), alongside the Raoni Institute and the Federation of Indigenous Peoples and Organizations of Mato Grosso (FEPOIMT), met with indigenous leaders to discuss the protection of women and girls in the Capoto/Jarina Indigenous Territory. These discussions aimed to strengthen support networks and coordinate field actions for awareness and prevention. Subsequent initiatives expanded to address gender-based political violence. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Mato Grosso (MPMT) has participated in programs in Cuiabá to discuss the challenges women face in leadership positions. These dialogues cover the legal aspects of political violence, the impact of digital disinformation, deepfakes, and artificial intelligence on female political participation, and the role of protection networks in combating misogyny. Building on these efforts, the MPMT has integrated gender-based violence awareness into broader social and institutional initiatives. As part of the ‘Agosto Lilás’ campaign, the agency is conducting specialized lectures regarding gender-based political violence and domestic violence awareness. Furthermore, health professionals in Cuiabá have received training to improve the identification and referral of domestic violence cases, highlighting the strategic role of healthcare services within the protection network.
