Cardiologists warn that while men often experience a complete blockage of blood flow, women may instead experience a reduction in flow. This physiological difference, combined with symptoms that can mimic menopause, anxiety, or indigestion, frequently leads to delayed diagnoses and poorer health outcomes. Research indicates that the risk of in-hospital death following a first sudden heart attack in women aged 18-54 was 3.1%, compared to 2.6% in men. To prevent permanent muscle damage, immediate medical attention is vital. Hospital treatments may include clot-dissolving medications, angioplasty, stent placement, or bypass surgery, followed by cardiological rehabilitation and lifestyle changes.
