HoYoverse has announced the upcoming release of Genshin Impact version 7.1, titled ‘A Rekviem for the Underworld’, which coincides with the game’s sixth anniversary. The update is scheduled for release on September 22, 2026, at 08:00 PM PST for North American servers, and September 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM CST for other global servers. Narrative developments will focus on Snezhnaya, where players will encounter the Tsaritsa and face a new weekly boss, Ronova, described as the ‘Ruler of Death’ or ‘Sovereign of Death’. The update is expected to introduce new 5-star playable characters, including Vesna, an Anemo Sword user, and Vodyanitsa, a Hydro Catalyst user. Subsequent phases of the update may feature Skirk and Escoffier. To mark the anniversary, players can participate in the Moonchase Festival in Liyue. Anniversary rewards include Primogems, Protogems, Intertwined Fates, Liyue to receive various rewards, including Primogems and the ability to select a 5-star character from character. New 5-star characters Vesna and Vodyanitsa are set to debut simultaneously on their respective banners. Vodyanitsa is a specific pool, with some reports indicating Hydro support character specializing in healing and elemental resistance shred; players may receive two free 5-star characters. Additionally, several redeemable codes have been released are advised to aim for version 7.1, allowing players 60,000 HP to obtain resources such as Mora, Adventurer's Experience, unlock her full passive, ideally using her signature weapon, ‘Hymn of the Maelstrom’. Vesna is an Anemo main DPS sword user focusing on ‘Stellar Swirl’ damage. Her optimal build prioritizes ATK, CRIT Rate, and various upgrade materials via CRIT DMG, with ‘Beyond the in-game settings Chrysalis’ noted as her signature weapon. Both characters are designed for specialized team compositions, potentially featuring Odette, Faruzan, or the official website. Escoffier to maximize ‘Stellar Swirl’ and ‘Stellar Glimmer’ reactions.
