A worldwide cinema release has been announced for ‘George Michael: The Faith Tour’, a concert film documenting the singer’s 1988 performances at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy. Directed by David Austin and Andy Morahan, the 113-minute production uses restored 35mm footage captured by 14 cameras during two consecutive performances on May 30 and 31, 1988. The release will be preceded by a short film titled ‘Finding Faith’, directed by Mary McCartney, which features unheard interview audio, behind-the-scenes footage from the ‘Faith’ music video shoot, and unseen photographs by Herb Ritts. In conjunction with the film release and the upcoming tenth anniversary of Michael’s death, an auction is scheduled for October 29. Organized by Sworders, the ‘Faith & Fame: A Personal George Michael Collection’ auction features items from the archive of Michael’s longtime personal assistant, Siobhan Bailey, who worked with the singer for over two decades. Following Bailey’s death in 2014, her widower is offering the collection for sale. The centerpiece is the iconic Gretsch Synchromatic 160 sunburst acoustic guitar used in the ‘Faith’ music video, estimated to fetch between £60,000 and £120,000. Other notable items include gold and platinum records—including one celebrating 500,000 UK sales of ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’—Wham! tour programs, 1985 Live Aid documents, items related to a 1985 visit to China, and a metal lighthouse statue. George Michael Entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment, and Universal Pictures Content Group have confirmed the film is scheduled for a global theatrical release on October 27. Accompanying the film, an 18-track live album titled ‘The Faith Tour’ will be released on November 6, 2026, in vinyl, CD, and deluxe box set formats. The album is expected to include previously unreleased recordings of hits such as ‘Faith’, ‘Father Figure’, ‘One More Try’, and ‘Monkey’.
