Georgia’s national basketball team has secured consecutive victories in preparation for and during the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers. In an exhibition match held in Tbilisi, Georgia defeated Israel 101-90, led by Sandro Mamukelashvili’s 20 points and Goga Bitadze’s 22 points. Following this preparation, Georgia moved into official qualifying play, defeating Montenegro 101-74 in the opening round of the second phase of the qualifiers held in Tbilisi.
