Developments in ADAC GT4 and Nürburgring racing
Overview
In late July 2026, the ADAC GT4 Germany series saw Belgian driver Lucas Cartelle take Toyota’s first pole position since 2022 at Oschersleben, posting a 1:29.767 lap in a Toyota GR Supra GT4. Simultaneously, Joos Sportwagentechnik announced a Porsche 911 GT3 R entry for the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS) SP9 Am class, scheduled to debut at the Ruhr-Pokal on 1 August to gather data for a long-term Nordschleife programme.
Two days later, the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie prepared to open its season highlight on 1 August with a six-hour endurance race on the Nordschleife. The event featured a special-liveried Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport driven by Porsche Heritage legends Timo Bernhard and Jörg Bergmeister, marking the final production of the mid-engine GT4 model.
By mid-August, competition in the ADAC GT4 Germany intensified at the Nürburgring. Denny Berndt and Lachlan Robinson, driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 for AVIA W&S Motorsport, secured a victory that moved them to the top of the ADAC Championship standings. They finished with a margin of over four seconds ahead of second-place finishers Gabriele Piana and Benjamin Sylvestersson in a BMW M4 GT4. The podium was completed by Alon Gabbay and Maximilian Schreyer in another Porsche, establishing Berndt and Robinson as favorites for the final two race weekends of the season.
