German-listed companies have experienced notable market volatility across several sectors. In the aerospace industry, OHB SE saw its stock face pressure, dropping as much as 4.2 percent in October, followed by a 9.9 percent decline in November. This later downturn was attributed to a broader decline in the European aerospace and defense sector. Despite these fluctuations, OHB reported operational progress, including the deployment of the ATHENE-1 satellite and a letter of intent with Astroscale Holdings to explore space security cooperation. In the banking and technology sectors, Temenos shares rose following news of an executive move to JPMorgan Chase, while Commerzbank shares fell 3.1 percent due to macroeconomic factors like rising bond yields. In the IT services sector, Bechtle shares declined 6.1 percent amid investor concerns regarding returns on AI investment. Retailer Hugo Boss AG has further impacted market outlooks by lowering its 2026 financial guidance, citing cautious consumer demand and increased non-cash depreciation on IT assets. In the aviation sector, Lufthansa has adjusted its 2026 outlook. The airline lowered its operating profit forecast to a range of €1.7 billion to €2.0 billion, down from a previous estimate of €1.7 billion to €2.2 billion. This reduction is primarily driven by surging jet fuel prices, which are expected to reach €9.3 billion for the full year, a €2 billion increase over the previous year. The company noted that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, specifically the conflict involving Iran, continue to drive up kerosene costs. Despite these pressures, the group reported record third-quarter revenues of €12.24 billion, a 9 percent year-on-year increase. To mitigate volatility, the airline has hedged over 80 percent of its fuel costs for 2026 and more than 60 percent for 2027. Lufthansa warned that ticket prices may see double-digit increases to offset rising expenses.
