German law enforcement agencies have conducted large-scale operations targeting diverse criminal activities in Bavaria and Hesse. In Hesse, a five-day operation led by the Hessian State Criminal Police Office and the Central Office for Combating Internet Crime targeted child abuse and the possession of child pornography. Between October 19 and October 23, authorities searched 84 locations, including Frankfurt, Kassel, Wiesbaden, and Fulda. The investigation identified 87 suspects, consisting of 83 men and four women aged 15 to 81. While suspects face charges for the production, possession, and distribution of child pornography, ten cases specifically involve allegations of the active sexual abuse of minors. Investigators noted that the suspects appear to be acting independently rather than as part of an organized network. In the Aschaffenburg region of Bavaria, customs officers conducted raids targeting illegal labor. Approximately 180 officers searched 17 properties as part of an investigation led by the Würzburg Public Prosecutor's Office and the Schweinfurt Customs Office. The operation targets four individuals accused of fraud against the scaffolding industry social fund, failure to pay social security contributions, and illegal labor leasing. Authorities suspect workers from Southeast Europe were being leased to construction companies without proper permits, with some individuals found to be staying in the country illegally. In a separate legal development, the Düsseldorf District Court sentenced a 30-year-old Swiss national to two years and eight months in prison. The defendant was convicted of forced prostitution, pimping, human trafficking, and drug offenses. The court found that between 2020 and 2022, the man used social media to lure male minors, aged 15 to 17, to his apartment with promises of luxury or housing. He reportedly used alcohol and drugs to ensure compliance before offering the minors for prostitution.
