Germany LGBTQ+ Pride events 2026
Overview
In early July, Cologne churches held inclusive queer services as part of Pride celebrations, marking religious participation in the festivities. By early August, Cologne Pride – Germany’s largest LGBTQ+ march with over a million participants – featured a fire‑department contingent from the Netzwerk Vielfalt project, aimed at increasing visibility for women and queer personnel. The initiative received public backing from the North‑Rhine Westphalia interior minister. At the same time, Nuremberg’s Christopher Street Day (CSD) prepared for a record‑breaking turnout, with live streaming, more than 20 performances, political discussions, and a late‑night queer gathering that combined traditional Bavarian fare with drag shows. The timeline shows growing public and institutional involvement in Germany’s 2026 LGBTQ+ pride activities.
