Gerresheimer restructuring and asset sales

In late June 2026 Gerresheimer AG reported an audited 2025 loss, reduced its 2026 outlook and indicated a plan to sell its U.S. operations. By the end of July, the company announced definitive agreements to divest its U.S.-based subsidiary Centor and its global Primary Packaging Plastics business to investors advised by Apax Partners for an enterprise value of about €1.5 billion. The transactions cover 16 sites in nine countries, employ roughly 2,400 staff and generated around €570 million in revenue the previous year. Proceeds will be used to cut leverage, strengthen the balance sheet and refocus on high‑value drug‑delivery and medical‑device packaging. The Centor deal is expected to close by the end of the 2026 fiscal year, with the PPP business slated for the first half of 2027, completing the strategic review that followed accounting investigations and Gerresheimer’s removal from the SDAX index.
