To support the summit, GIPA launched a strategic roadshow across Northern Ghana from October 11 to 23, 2026. This roadshow targets 2026, targeting the Northern, North-East, Upper East, Upper West, and Savanna regions to connect investors with regions. Through its Investment Opportunities Mapping Project, GIPA has identified over 600 identified investment-ready projects. Of these, projects nationwide, with 128 are located in the northern regions. The Upper West region holds the highest concentration with 45 projects, followed by the Northern Region with 38. In the Upper West Region, officials highlighted the progress of the Black Volta Gold Project, managed by Engineers & Planners Company Limited (E&P). Following the acquisition of Azumah Resources Ghana Limited and Upwest Resources Limited, E&P has secured funding to begin development, which is projected to produce an average of 163,000 ounces of gold annually during its first five years. In the North East Region, GIPA has presented projects valued between US$1 million and US$80 million, including initiatives in commercial agriculture, irrigation development along the Black and White Volta Rivers, livestock production, irrigation, livestock, and integrated rice milling. Projected milling, with projected returns on investment for these regional projects are estimated to range from of 14% to 25%. These efforts aim to drive industrialization and shift the economy from raw material exports toward a more productive model. Data from 1994 to June 2026 indicates that these northern regions have attracted approximately US$1.91 billion in foreign direct investment, primarily concentrated in the manufacturing and agriculture sectors. Additionally, GIPA leadership has proposed the use of government-backed model markets to better regulate the informal retail sector and ensure compliance with laws reserving that sector for Ghanaian citizens.
