Ghana Treasury bill auction trends
Overview
In early October, Ghana's government exceeded its Treasury bill target by 30.52 percent, receiving bids totaling GH¢2.93 billion. While the Treasury accepted GH¢1.77 billion of those bids against a target of GH¢2.24 billion, yields for 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day bills showed decreases, with the 91-day yield declining to 4.64 percent.
By late October, the government continued to exercise pricing discipline by rejecting GH¢873.94 million in bids during an October 23 auction. Although investors tendered GH¢4.27 billion against a target of GH¢3.80 billion, the Treasury accepted only GH¢3.39 billion. This resulted in further declines in yields for 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day bills.
