Giant pumpkin displays in Allgäu

The Allgäu region in Germany has gained attention due to the presence of exceptionally large pumpkins. In the Unterallgäu district near Ottobeuren, a pumpkin grown by the Frommelt family in a greenhouse weighs 833 kilograms. While the grower intended to enter the specimen into a weighing competition in Ludwigsburg, damage to the pumpkin prevented participation. It is currently being displayed at Brüchlins as a local attraction. Additionally, a second massive ‘Atlantic Giant’ variety weighing 301 kilograms is being showcased at the Frank nursery in Fischen, Oberallgäu. This specimen is noted as being significantly larger than standard supermarket varieties.
