In early June, Zarrella attracted criticism for posting a family photo taken at a Cologne concert. He later admitted on the “Hotel Matze” podcast that, after BroʼSis disbanded in 2006, he led a “double life” – telling his wife Jana Ina he was in the studio while simply walking around the block. He said the birth of his son in 2008 restored his sense of purpose. During July 2026 he repeated the confession in two podcast episodes, confirming that he and Jana Ina have two children – son Gabriel Bruno and an eight‑year‑old daughter, who was seen at a Billie Eilish concert in Cologne. On 20 July he emphasized the emotional toll of the double‑life period; two days later he announced a new health‑focus plan, pledging more sleep and personal “Me‑Time” ahead of a busy concert tour and an upcoming ZDF show. On 25 July he posted a poetic tribute to his sister Maria and brother Stefano, mourning an aunt’s death and reaffirming sibling bonds. In the same interview he reiterated that the 2008 birth of his son helped him regain stability and that his family now enjoys a harmonious life while he continues to manage hay‑fever with minimal medication. Late July brought the announcement of the ZDF‑produced summer edition of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show”, to be recorded on 8 August 2026 at the Fernsehgarten in Mainz and broadcast on 29 August. The programme will feature a star‑studded line‑up – Andrea Berg, Adam Lambert and Chris Norman joining regular performers such as Vanessa Mai, Andreas Gabalier and Semino Rossi. The reveal coincided with Zarrella’s continued reflections on his past double‑life crisis, again crediting his son’s birth for helping him rebuild his family life.
