A massive forest fire in France’s Gironde department, which burned over 42,000 hectares in less than two weeks, prompted a wave of charitable initiatives. French actors and internet personalities, led by Guillaume Canet and YouTuber Léna Situations, organized a fundraising concert – “SOS Solidarité Incendies” – scheduled for 27 August at the Arkéa Arena in Floirac, with ticket proceeds earmarked for victims and firefighting services. In parallel, the French satirical news outlet Le Gorafi announced that the entire profit from its August print edition would be donated to residents of the Porge commune, directly affected by the same wildfires. The decision, driven by personal ties to the community, added another layer of financial support to the broader relief effort. As the relief efforts expanded, the “SOS Solidarité Incendies” concert was set to feature more than a dozen singers, including Renaud, Zazie, Julien Clerc, -M-, Pascal Obispo, and Gims. The event, expected to host over 10,000 spectators, was scheduled for broadcast live on M6 and RTL to benefit the Fondation de France. Further community support emerged through chef Philippe Etchebest, who organized a free concert on the Lacanau seafront for 30 August. Performing with his group, Chef & The Gang, Etchebest planned to host a fundraiser managed by Secours Populaire to assist those who lost property in the fires.
