On October 9, 2026, a double homicide occurred in the village of Livoç i Ulët, Gjilan, when Valon Ramushi allegedly shot and killed his wife, Nafije Bugujevci, and her brother, Egzon Bugujevci. A third relative relative, M. B., was seriously injured in the attack and required intensive care at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo. Kosovo, while a fourth individual, R. B., narrowly escaped the attack. Prosecutors detailed that the suspect initially targeted his wife while she was a passenger in a vehicle, then used his vehicle to intercept a group of family members. Upon exiting the car, the suspect reportedly threatened the group, stating, ‘I have lost my life because I killed my wife, and I will kill you too,’ before opening fire. Following the incident, Ramushi reportedly drove the suspect surrendered vehicle containing his wife’s body to authorities. the emergency entrance of the Regional Hospital in Gjilan before surrendering to the police. Police searches of his properties resulted in the seizure of various firearms and ammunition, including a Beretta pistol, a Mossberg long gun, a hunting rifle, a pneumatic gun, and a TT pistol, many of which had expired permits. The Basic Court in Gjilan has ordered one month of pretrial detention for Ramushi, who faces charges of aggravated murder and illegal possession of weapons.
