Global mineral exploration and drilling results
Overview
Antares Metals has reported positive drilling results at its Conglomerate Creek Target 2 prospect in northwest Queensland, Australia. A 780m maiden reverse circulation drilling program intersected copper mineralization in all six holes, validating the company’s geological model for the Mt Isa North Copper Project. One specific hole, ACD002, yielded 4.0m of 8,140 ppm copper starting at 84m depth.
Following these results, Antares Metals confirmed that all six holes returned anomalous copper and plans to use surface electrical geophysics to prioritize targets for future drilling.
In a separate development, Taranis Resources released findings from its Thor site and the historic Ajax mine, indicating consistent enrichment of precious and critical minerals. The study suggests a single enrichment event may be responsible for both deposits, with the Thor mineral resource containing gold, silver, copper, lead, and zinc. The Canadian government classifies copper and zinc as critical minerals, while other identified minerals include indium, antimony, and gallium.
