Interest and monitoring of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) have increased across various institutions. In Germany, the Central Research Network for Extraordinary Celestial Phenomena (CENAP) has investigated approximately 14,000 UFO sightings, reporting three to six new cases daily. CENAP director Hansjürgen Köhler noted that while many phenomena are natural, interest has been bolstered by the release of U.S. Pentagon files regarding UAP. Concurrently, the European Commission has been monitoring UAP since at least 2023. This follows reports from amateur astronomers in Malaysia who submitted 37 images of ~~objects appearing near aircraft and critical infrastructure, such as military and nuclear sites. In response,~~ alleged UAPs to President Ursula von der Leyen. Recent documents obtained by Euronews indicate the Commission’s defense department is looking to enhance technological capabilities to better detect and identify these phenomena in the sky and deep space. Beyond extraterrestrial theories, the focus remains on aviation and space security. Additionally, some European pilots and lawmakers are calling for a standardized reporting system to reduce the stigma associated with reporting such sightings.
