Municipalities in Latin America and Europe are engaged in various urban development and infrastructure maintenance projects. Initial efforts focused on public space improvements, such as modernizing sports tracks in Spain, creating green zones in Albacete, and inaugurating new plazas in Argentina and Mexico. Other regional activities included environmental training in Chile and waste removal efforts in Chascomús. Subsequent actions shifted toward addressing public safety and hazardous infrastructure. In Mexico, authorities removed an unstable facade that posed a risk to pedestrians and motorists. In Argentina, municipal teams began restoring a pedestrian bridge damaged by storms and performing water utility repairs to mitigate flooding. In the Mexican state of Puebla, infrastructure efforts have expanded to large-scale road rehabilitation. Through the Secretariat of Infrastructure, the state government completed the rehabilitation of 29.6 kilometers of routes as part of a Minor Maintenance Program. This initiative involved repairing 8,953 potholes across 155 streets in the metropolitan area—covering municipalities such as Puebla, San Andrés Cholula, and Amozoc—and addressing an additional 8,880 potholes across 32 streets in the state’s interior. These works, which included weeding and cleaning gutters, were aligned with the federal ‘Senderos de Paz’ program and utilized supplies donated by Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX).
