Meanwhile, Lausanne-based Fusionality is developing AI-driven control systems to manage complex plasma conditions.

In the United States, companies like Commonwealth Fusion Systems are utilizing the tokamak method with high-temperature superconductors. As of August 2026, the SPARC research reactor was reported to be nearly 80 percent complete, with plans to deliver electricity to the grid via the ARC plant in the early 2030s.
