In Australia, research shows consumers are finding it increasingly difficult to identify scams, with 53 per cent of adults stating scams are harder to spot. In Ireland, reports indicate that 85 per cent of adults encounter suspicious communications monthly, including a rise in AI-generated fraudulent content. Irish data also shows that fraud victimization increased from 4 per cent in 2019 to 11 per cent in 2025, alongside a trend of declining crime reporting rates.

Similarly, in the Philippines, while traditional street crimes have decreased, cybercrime victimization rose from 5.8 per cent to 8.0 per cent nationally between March and June 2026, with notable spikes in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
