Go Digit General Insurance ownership changes

In late July 2026, the Competition Commission of India cleared the amalgamation of Go Digit Infoworks Services Pvt Ltd with Go Digit General Insurance Ltd, designating the latter as the surviving entity. The approval paved the way for Fairfax Group’s Canadian arm, FAL Corporation, to acquire a 57.28% majority stake in the insurer.

The following day, venture‑capital firm Peak XV Partners sold a 0.6% holding of Go Digit General Insurance – 57.2 lakh shares at ₹243 each – to ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund in a ₹139 crore block deal. The transaction, priced at a modest discount, lifted ICICI Prudential’s stake to just under 1% and prompted a brief rise in Go Digit’s share price on the NSE. The deal came after an earlier ₹100 crore share sale by Peak XV and follows the company’s recent share‑price decline and a tax demand notice.

Together, these moves signal a consolidation of control by Fairfax while minority investors adjust positions, reflecting ongoing restructuring and capital‑raising activity at the Indian insurtech firm.
