The administration of Goiânia, led by Mayor Sandro Mabel, announced plans to appeal a decision by the Court of Justice of Goiás (TJGO) which declared the current methodology for calculating the Public Cleaning Fee (Taxa do Lixo) unconstitutional. Meanwhile, the City Council is discussing new legislation to ensure these exemptions are legally guaranteed for approximately 240,000 families starting in 2027.
