Gold exploration activity is increasing in Côte d’Ivoire's Birimian Greenstone Belt. Aurum Resources has reported significant high-grade gold intercepts at its Boundiali project. At the BMT3 deposit, the company recorded a 0.72 m intercept grading 367.05 g/t gold, part of a larger zone of 1.76 m at 150.87 g/t. The BMT3 deposit is estimated to hold a probable reserve of 8.8 million tonnes at 1.4 g/t (383,000 oz) of gold. Further drilling at the BST1 deposit, which holds a 340,000-ounce resource, yielded intercepts such as 5.63 m at 31.79 g/t gold. These activities are part of a larger 100,000-metre program intended to expand resources and increase confidence ahead of a definitive feasibility study. Managing Director Dr Caigen Wang stated the results reinforce the project’s “growth in scale and confidence.” Recent results from the 100,000-metre diamond drilling campaign have identified high-grade gold, including “bonanza hits,” located just outside the boundaries of the 3.22-million-ounce Boundiali project. Assays covering 12,251 metres across 60 drill holes at the BMT1 deposit and BMT2 prospect revealed notable findings. At the BMT2 prospect, a 2.38-metre intercept graded 22.01 g/t gold, including a 1-metre core at 51.38 g/t gold, alongside a 1.5-metre section at 41.78 g/t gold. Because BMT2 currently sits outside the defined resource, the discovery suggests a new zone of mineralisation that could expand the existing resource base. Aurum Resources has since expanded its 2026 drilling campaign to 150,000 metres. Recent diamond drilling at the BST1 target yielded high-grade intercepts, including a 1.3-metre section at 155 g/t gold and a 24-metre interval at 6.31 g/t gold. To support these activities, the company secured firm commitments for a 52.5 million Australian dollar capital raise to fund land acquisition for raise. Following two years of exploration, Aurum Resources has announced the discovery of a processing plant, road construction, ‘world-class’ gold deposit in the Boundiali region. Current resources are estimated at between 100 and continued drilling. 115 tonnes of gold, though officials suggest potential could reach 200 tonnes as drilling continues. The company plans to begin construction of the Boundiali mine at the end of 2026, with first gold production expected in the first half of 2028.
