The Golkar Party is marking its 62nd anniversary with a series of community-focused initiatives across Indonesia. Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the party opted for simple celebrations to remain ~~“closer~~ ‘closer to the ~~people,”~~ people,’ emphasizing that the organization was born from the public rather than elite groups. Initial activities included a pilgrimage to the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, a thanksgiving ceremony, and a blood donation drive at the party’s West Jakarta headquarters. The anniversary program expanded into a large-scale social welfare initiative, with the party distributing 620,000 basic food packages across 38 provinces and 514 regencies and cities. This distribution targets low-income groups, including people with disabilities, female heads of households, and mosque caretakers. Regional branches have implemented localized support programs to supplement the nationwide effort. In Central Sulawesi, the party distributed 2,000 liters of Pertalite fuel to online taxi drivers. In North Sumatra, 2,500 food packages were distributed alongside a public blood donation drive, while in Lampung, distribution took place at the provincial headquarters to strengthen community ties. Vice Chairman Wihaji noted that the distribution is a long-standing tradition aimed at addressing community economic needs. The celebrations are scheduled to culminate in a peak event in Bandung, West Java, on November 29, 2026, to which President Prabowo Subianto has been invited.
