South Korean actor Gong Yoo launched his ‘2026 Gong Yoo Asia Fan Meeting Tour: The Long Take’ with ~~scheduled~~ appearances in Jakarta and Bangkok. In Jakarta, Gong Yoo expressed deep emotion regarding his ability to meet Indonesian fans closely for the first time. However, the tour subsequently faced criticism following an incident in Thailand. Social media footage showed the actor fulfilling a fan's request to mimic a dog's behavior by crawling and sticking out his tongue. This led to backlash from netizens who condemned the interaction as “disrespectful and dehumanizing,” arguing that ticket purchases do not grant fans the right to mistreat celebrities. During his October 17 event at Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Gong Yoo also discussed his upcoming 22-episode Netflix drama, ‘Show Business’ (also referred to as ‘Tantara’). Set in the South Korean entertainment industry between the 1960s and 1980s, the series features Song Hye Kyo and marks a reunion with director Lee Yoon-jung. Gong Yoo indicated that he plans to continue his promotional tour for the series in locations including Macau, the Philippines, and South Korea.
