Google Play Store antitrust settlements

Overview

In the United States, a federal court approved a $700 million settlement to resolve a multi-state antitrust lawsuit. This settlement, described as the largest under the UK’s 2015 class action regime for competition claims, allocates £160 million to UK-based app developers who sold digital content via the Play Store between August 2018 and July 2026, with the remainder covering litigation costs. Google has not admitted to legal liability or wrongdoing in the UK case.
