Google software and AI platform updates

Google is expanding its software ecosystem with several new features and platforms. Initial reports indicated that Google Keep would introduce a fixed bottom toolbar to provide quick access to checklists, images, voice recordings, and drawings. Subsequent developments focused on user workarounds for organizational limitations in Google Keep and potential updates for Google Translate, including an automatic saving feature for Live Translate transcriptions.

Recent developments show Google is expanding into AI-driven development with ‘Antigravity,’ an agent-first platform listed in the Play Store. Designed for AI agents to manage code locally, the platform is built for ‘Googlebook OS’ and currently lacks compatibility with standard Android smartphones, as attempts to run it on Pixel devices result in terminal permission errors.

In messaging and security, code discovered in Google Messages suggests the integration of native video calling via the RCS protocol using the Universal Profile 4.0 standard. This would allow users to transition from text to real-time video. Additionally, Google is testing enhanced security for Chrome on Android through a ‘Biometric reauth for password filling’ flag, which would require facial recognition or fingerprint authentication before the browser automatically fills saved credentials from the Google Password Manager.
