Google’s ecosystem refresh continued through mid‑2026. In May, Wear OS 7 was announced with a roughly 10 % battery boost and Gemini‑driven health‑coaching features, positioning the platform as a wellness hub. Verizon later posted changelogs (June 9) and support pages (June 13) confirming that Wear OS 7 and the June 2026 security patch would roll out to Pixel Watch 2‑4, while the original 2022 Pixel Watch would be left out. On 16 June Google began delivering Wear OS 7 to eligible watches, adding Live Updates, an audio‑output switch and Gemini AI on newer 2026 models. The same day the stable Android 17 build launched for Pixel phones, tablets and foldables, bringing deeper AI integration, larger‑screen support, enhanced HDR/RAW, Bluetooth LE Audio and a refreshed multitasking UI. Early July saw the July 2026 monthly Android 17 maintenance patch reach the full Pixel lineup—including the Pixel Fold and Pixel 10 Pro Fold—addressing crashes, UI color issues, boot‑loop risks and foldable navigation bugs. The July 11 Canary 2607 update introduced a redesigned Wallpaper & Style overlay, new Settings splash icon and per‑app Drive‑backup toggles, though it retained a known Sound & Vibration crash. Subsequent beta releases (Beta 7 on 15 July, Beta 8 on 31 July) focused on stability, fixing reverse‑wireless‑charging, Quick‑Settings font‑size crashes, audio static, NFC read regressions and fingerprint authentication failures ahead of the September Feature Drop. On 4 August Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2 arrived for Pixel 6a and newer devices, confirming the end of testing for Pixel 6/6 Pro and, quietly, the cessation of Google Play Services support on Android 6.0 devices. Early August Google released the August 2026 Android 17 security patch to Pixel 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9 series and the Pixel 10 line, adding a vulnerability fix and boosting game‑app stability, GPU performance and touch response.
