The Manisa Metropolitan Municipality announced a special concert featuring Balkan music artist Goran Bregović at the Sardis Ancient City, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The event was initially scheduled for October 3, 2026, with free tickets made available via the Biletinial platform. Following the announcement, the municipality detailed logistical arrangements for the concert, which was set for October 10, 2026. To manage the event, officials established a transportation plan including free shuttle services from seven locations in the Manisa city center starting at 17:00. Additionally, designated parking areas were organized to manage congestion, with ring vehicles provided to transport attendees from parking lots to the concert site. On October 11, 2026, Goran Bregović performed at the Sardis Ancient City, the former capital of the Lydian civilization. During the performance, Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Besim Dutlulu presented Bregović with a handmade carpet crafted by women from Demircili. In his address, Mayor Dutlulu dedicated the concert to those who lost their lives in a recent accident in Soma, as well as to laborers, grape growers, and olive farmers who struggle to receive fair compensation for their work.
