GPD has announced transitioned from technical specifications and pricing announcements to the official launch of pre-orders for its upcoming the WIN Max 3 modular handheld gaming notebook, which utilizes AMD’s Strix Halo architecture. Initial announcements detailed hardware features including a choice between laptop. Building on the previously announced AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388 architecture (388 and Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processors, an integrated series) and Radeon 8060S GPU, graphics, the device utilizes a clamshell design with interchangeable snap-on modules. These include a 97Wh battery pack and up to 128 GB an external cooling module, the latter of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM. The device is expected which allows the system to feature reach a sustained 110W performance. The hardware features a 9.06-inch AMOLED display and with a unique removable magnetic battery module. GPD attributed the high costs to being a smaller manufacturer navigating a “memory market crisis.” high-end 128GB+2TB configuration. The modular battery can be purchased separately for 399 CNY.
