The 2026 Great New York State Fair in Syracuse ~~has announced its upcoming schedule and features.~~ is scheduled to run from August 26 through September 7. The event will ~~include~~ feature the Chevrolet Music Series, hosting nearly 40 national recording acts across two main stages, Chevy Court and Suburban Park. New regulations for the fair include a ban on face masks and coverings, except for those with legitimate medical reasons. While signs and placards remain prohibited within the fenced fairgrounds, new designated free-speech areas have been established near certain entrances for demonstrations and protests, provided they possess a Public Assembly Permit and do not obstruct fairgoers or attractions. Entertainment offerings ~~for the season~~ include over 50 rides on the midway, ~~ranging from classic attractions to high-thrill options. Additional activities include~~ Corgi Races, a drone show, a three-ring circus, extreme water sports, and returning traditions such as the Hollywood Pig Races and the annual butter sculpture. For the 2026 season, the fair is also introducing the ‘Best of Fair’ competition. This initiative allows members of the public to serve as official judges alongside local celebrities in the Empire Room at the Creative Arts Center. Judging categories will include savory food, sweet food, fried food, mocktails, and alcoholic cocktails.
