The Greece under-16 men’s basketball team arrived in Oradea, Romania, on 4 August 2026 for the EuroBasket U16 tournament (7–15 August). The 12-player roster, including point guard Kōos Babis Christodoulou (Olympiacos), was drawn into Group C with Spain, Israel and Georgia. After suffering two consecutive losses against Spain (96-86 in overtime) and Israel (89-84), Greece secured a decisive 86-63 victory over Georgia to conclude its group stage obligations. During the win against Georgia, Andreas Barlo contributed 18 points, Thanas Spanos added 16 points and 8 rebounds, and Kōos Babis Christodoulou recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. A momentary medical concern occurred when Spanos fell to the court during the match, but he was able to continue playing.
