Professor Thanos Dimopoulos of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens clarified that while quantum physics is vital to medical imaging, ‘quantum medicine’ and ‘quantum doctors’ are not recognized medical specialties. Similarly, Ioannis Antoniou, President of the Hellenic Physical Society, described the term as a ‘marketing gimmick’ used to provide a theoretical veneer to unproven treatments. Scientists have called for stricter state intervention and licensing to protect citizens from non-evidence-based practices.
