The influencer economy in Greece has evolved into a professionalized sector where creators command significant advertising fees across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Rates vary by follower count, with top-tier creators earning substantial sums for single posts. This growth has led to the establishment of major businesses. For instance, creator Ioanna Touni’s company reported a turnover of €2,063,213 and net profits of approximately €1,541,462 in 2024, while others like Modern Cinderella have reported earnings nearing €500,000. Advertising agencies have increasingly shifted focus toward these creators, often resulting in products selling out within hours of a post. Pricing structures are highly stratified by follower scale: nano-influencers (under 10,000 followers) charge between €150 and €600 on TikTok or Instagram, while mid-tier influencers (50,000 to 250,000 followers) can receive up to €6,000 for similar posts. Creators with over one million followers can command between €15,000 and €40,000 for TikTok or Instagram, with YouTube rates for top-tier talent exceeding €60,000. In response to these large-scale financial transactions, the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has intensified its oversight. Authorities are utilizing digital tools and specialized audit teams to monitor social media platforms and identify undeclared income from various categories, including nano, micro, mid-size, macro, and mega influencers. As of August 2026, the AADE has continued to increase inspections due to surging digital earnings. Revenue streams from brand collaborations, sponsorships, and advertising remain significant, with micro-influencers (10,000 to 50,000 followers) earning between €1,000 and €10,000 per campaign, while mega-influencers can command more than €40,000 for a single sponsored post.
