The development of ‘Guns of Eschaton’, a first-person shooter and Soulslike fusion set in an apocalyptic Western universe, has seen shifts in its projected timeline. Initially, the project led by art director Viktor Antonov was expected to launch in 2028, with 2027 as a possible alternative. Following a showcase at Gamescom by Eschatology Entertainment, Entertainment and publisher 4Divinity, the release window has been moved forward to 2026 confirmed for 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game features art direction influenced by Antonov Antonov, known for his work on ‘Half-Life 2’ and ‘Dishonored’, blending desert landscapes and remote towns with industrial and supernatural elements. Gameplay focuses on precision ranged combat, resource management, combat where “every bullet is critical,” though melee options such as blocking and character customization through counter-attacks remain available. Players can customize builds using firearms, ammunition types, occult abilities, firearms, talismans, and armor. While primarily designed as a single-player experience, the game will also include a cooperative mode. The environment emphasizes resource management and learning enemy weaknesses within a world where enemies respawn at rest points.
