Guyanese opposition parties are attempting to resolve internal fractures regarding representation within key democratic institutions. The dispute primarily involves the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party and A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) over the composition of the Local Government Commission (LGC), following WIN’s submission of nominees that excluded APNU’s candidates. Disagreements have also extended to representation on the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) and leadership coordination for the Region 10 Regional Democratic Council.
