In early July, the city of Haarlem began festivities for a new cultural event, launching the FIER Haarlem festival with live‑statue live-statue performances ahead of the July 12 city celebration. By the end of July, organisers announced the inaugural Haarlem Live music festival to run from 12 to 16 August in the city centre. The program features headliners such as Van Dik Hout, Gallowstreet, Fuse and Thijs Boontjes, while emphasizing local talent and neighbourhood business participation. A Social Safety Hub on Spekstraat will provide on‑site on-site security and an online reporting tool. The opening night on 12 August will include a free screening of *Les Parapluies de Cherbourg* at De Schuur. Haarlem Live replaces the former Haarlem Jazz & More festival. While its predecessor lasted three days, this new iteration extends over five days and is designed to be a broader cultural event integrating music, hospitality, and social safety. The festival aims to create a distributed urban experience by utilizing various locations, including the Grote Markt, Botermarkt, Klokhuisplein, and numerous local cafés and indoor venues. The musical programming spans multiple genres, including jazz, pop, soul, funk, blues, and Dutch-language music. Recent performances at the inaugural event included the Thijs Boontjes Dans- en Showorkest and the ska ensemble Eskalatie.
