The Halloweentown film franchise has maintained a significant cultural legacy, highlighted by annual festivals in St. Helens, Oregon, and enduring connections among its cast members. While there were previously no official plans for new installments, creator Sheri Singer had expressed interest in potential future projects like prequels or musicals. Disney has since entered early development for a fifth film intended for Disney Channel and Disney+. Screenwriters Lily Houghton and Ryan Koehn have been selected to develop the script using characters originally created by Paul Bernbaum. Although plot details and release dates are unannounced, the franchise remains a major asset for the studio, having accumulated over 160 million streaming hours on Disney+ globally. As the franchise has been inactive since 2006, the new project aims to revitalize the series. While the script is being developed, Disney has not yet officially greenlit the film, nor has it announced a director, a release date, or a confirmed cast. It remains unclear if original stars Kimberly J. Brown or Sara Paxton will return to the role of Marnie Piper.
