Infrastructure projects in Hanoi are progressing after facing decade-long delays caused by land clearance and site issues. In the Do Duc Duc - Me Tri road project, construction has resumed following a ten-year period of stagnation. The restart has caused significant traffic congestion and disruptions for commuters due to new diversion plans and uneven road surfaces. Local authorities intend to complete the project by December. Simultaneously, the Pham Hung - Le Duc Tho road connection is nearing completion as residents begin dismantling homes to facilitate land handover. This 1.12km project, which has faced delays for nearly a decade, is seeing renewed progress as residents in the My Dinh area relocate to resettlement areas. The work aims to facilitate the final connection between Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 3.5, with authorities targeting the completion of all land clearance by September 30, 2026. Further expansion is underway with the Tu Lien Bridge project, a major investment totaling nearly 19,830 billion VND. Having achieved 100% land clearance, contractors—including a consortium featuring Vingroup and Pacific Construction Group—are currently operating across 15 construction sites. The bridge is intended to connect Nghi Tam with Truong Sa and is targeted for completion before APEC 2027. To accommodate the ongoing construction of the Tu Lien Bridge and its access roads, the Hanoi Department of Construction has announced traffic adjustments effective October 21. These measures include the installation of barriers on Nghi Tam and Au Co streets, alongside one-way traffic diversions on which will reduce available road width to between 6 and 7.5 meters in affected sections. To manage the impact, Yen Phu Nho street will become a one-way street from the Nghi Tam junction toward Thanh Nien street, and surrounding routes to mitigate congestion. Nghi Tam street will also operate as a one-way route between Alley 276 and a temporary opening near bridge piers N1-T3 and N1-T4.
