Hanoi and Khanh Hoa vehicle registration data review
Hanoi police, in coordination with local commune police and the Ministry of Public Security, are conducting a 100-day campaign to review more than 1 million vehicles. The initiative seeks to update registration data to ensure it is “accurate, sufficient, clean, and live” as part of broader digital transformation and administrative reform efforts. By mid-October, authorities reported that over 60% of the targeted vehicles had been reviewed. The process has uncovered several administrative discrepancies, including vehicles sold without proper registration or license plate revocation procedures, as well as numerous vehicles with expired technical inspections. As of late October, the scope of these data cleanup efforts has expanded to include Khanh Hoa province. In Khanh Hoa, a specific campaign titled “Khanh Hoa Police Accompany People to Clean Vehicle Registration Data” is running from October 20 to November 20. This provincial initiative focuses on assisting citizens with ownership transfers, license plate revocations for sold or expired vehicles, and the conversion of white license plates to yellow plates for commercial transport. To encourage public participation, the province is providing practical gifts, such as helmets and raincoats, funded by local business contributions. Authorities are urging continue to urge vehicle owners to complete necessary inspections and are requesting that individuals involved in incomplete ownership transfers or unrecovered registrations visit registration points for guidance.
