As HBO Max moves into September 2026, the platform has expanded its programming to include live events, animation, and international dramas. Early September releases include the film ‘Blade Runner 2049’ on September 2, followed by live broadcasts of UEFA Champions League matches on September 8, 9, and 10, and the 2026 Emmy Awards on September 14. The documentary slate for the month features ‘O. J. Simpson: Verdades Nunca Vistas’ and ‘Fukushima: Um Pesadelo Nuclear’. Animation offerings include ‘Peppa Pig’, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Castelo Infinito’, and new episodes of the Adult Swim series ‘Presidente Curtis’, which is set within the ‘Rick and Morty’ universe. Between September 7 and 13, the service is scheduled to release the anime film ‘Scarlet’, directed by Mamoru Hosoda, and the Mexican drama series ‘Colisão’, which depicts a power struggle within a family business. Other additions for this period include the documentary series ‘Morte e Mistério na Amazônia’ and the film ‘The Professional’ on September 23. This follows the previously announced September highlights, such as the Michael Jackson biopic ‘Michael’, the A24 horror film ‘Backrooms’, the action thriller ‘Fuze’, and the Jay-Z documentary series ‘Jay-Z In 8’. Further scheduled releases for mid-September include ‘San Andrés’, ‘Un talento único’, and ‘Supergirl’ on September 10. This is followed by the documentary series ‘Las caras de la verdad: El crimen de Topeka’ on September 11, and the addition of ‘Teen Titans Go! La película’ on September 12. Additionally, the psychological thriller ‘Línea mortal: al límite’, directed by Niels Arden Oplev and starring Elliot Page and Diego Luna, is gaining attention for its premise involving medical students experimenting with near-death experiences.
