The 61st Head of the Charles Regatta took place on the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts, featuring diverse competitive categories including heavyweight and women’s rowing. Columbia University entered multiple teams, including Men’s and Women’s Championship Fours and Men’s Championship Eights, while the King’s Crown Rowing Association entered three boats for alumni racing. A historic entry included an all-women’s crew from Marin County, California, representing the first all-women’s crew in their 80s to compete in an eight-person boat at the regatta. Members of this crew noted they grew up in an era before Title IX expanded athletic opportunities for women. Collegiate performances included a gold medal for Boston University’s women’s rowing team in the Women’s Club 4+ event, marking the program’s first gold in that specific event since 2011. The University of Louisville women’s rowing team placed eighth in the Women’s Club Eights, finishing as the top crew from the ACC and recording the sixth-fastest time among all NCAA competitors. As the regatta concluded, Boston University also secured a gold-medal performance in the Lightweight Fours, finishing more than seven seconds ahead of Wisconsin. Other notable collegiate results included Georgetown University’s lightweight Varsity Eight finishing second, narrowly missing first place by 0.021 seconds, and the Virginia Varsity Eight placing third overall and first among collegiate boats. In the women's club events, Georgetown took fourth place, while Jacksonville University’s men's varsity four secured sixth, and Northeastern University’s men's first varsity finished eighth in the Championship Eights.
