In Chile, the Municipality of Algarrobo has invested over $33 million in a new vehicle to improve patient transport for the CESFAM health center. This follows a previous $93 million investment for a new ambulance for the SAPU emergency service, bringing total municipal health vehicle investment to over $126 million. Additionally, the Hospital de Santa Cruz has inaugurated new endoscopy and colonoscopy facilities. In Argentina, the Mendoza provincial government has increased its 2026 budget by over $9.9 billion pesos to initiate a digital transformation project for the provincial healthcare system. Supported by an $85 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the modernization plan includes investments in technological infrastructure, electronic health records, digital laboratory and imaging systems, medication management, telehealth platforms, and cybersecurity measures. Further digital modernization is occurring in Argentina as the Río Negro province launches a digital transformation project, supported by a US$60 million IDB loan, to expand telehealth and AI-driven diagnostics.
