However, Sandner identified entries in Munich’s official death register and death notices indicating the body was actually discovered at 10:15 a.m. on September 18, 1931. This discrepancy suggests the discovery occurred approximately 24 hours earlier than previously recorded. Such a shift would place Hitler in Munich at the time of the discovery, as records show he did not depart for Nuremberg until the afternoon of September 18. Sandner suggests these conflicting records may indicate a potential cover-up by police officials sympathetic to the Nazi Party. Following reports by Der Spiegel, the findings have reopened debates regarding the circumstances of Raubal’s death and the nature of her relationship with Hitler. While some historians suggest the discrepancy might simply be a transcription error, the discovery potentially removes Hitler’s long-standing alibi.
