The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has taken several regulatory actions against medical and pharmaceutical entities in the region. Initially, the department revoked the operating announcements for 11 vaccination facilities. This included six locations belonging to FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, which requested the closures following the reclamation of their business premises, and five other facilities from Chan Van Medical Joint Stock Company, CV Health24 Medical Joint Stock Company, and Bao Minh General Clinic Co., Ltd. due to the cessation of vaccination activities. Subsequently, health authorities issued various sanctions and fines against a range of medical facilities, pharmaceutical businesses, and cosmetic companies for regulatory violations. Penalties included fines for the mismanagement of specially controlled drugs at Binh Duong Obstetrics and Pediatric Hospital and Saigon International Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, as well as fines for improper documentation display and unauthorized warehouse expansion. Other enforcement actions involved the suspension of professional certificates for improper drug storage and practicing outside of professional scope, alongside orders for the recall and destruction of cosmetics that did not match registered profiles. More recently, the department has expanded its oversight to address service failures and fraudulent activities. Following the report of 163 complaints between late September and late October, authorities addressed issues such as misplaced patient files and improper fee collection, ordering the implementation of electronic tracking systems. Additionally, an investigation into Giang’s Care Healthcare Co., Ltd. revealed the repackaging of medicines and the use of counterfeit labels to impersonate products from the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Traditional Medicine, FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical JSC, and Gia Hung business household.
