Following its July 23 launch, Hololive Dreams continued to expand its content. On July 28 the game began its first post‑launch event, a swimsuit‑themed gacha called “Sunny Summer Vacation.” The event introduced five virtual idols—Oozora Subaru, Shiranui Flare, Shirogane Noel, Kadomaki Watame and Otonose Kanade—each in swimwear with a dedicated song, and added a new original track, “Bakatsu!! Tropical Vacation.” A companion in‑game celebration, “Hello! Brand New Summer!,” offered training materials, event memories and a points ranking system. The game remains free‑to‑play with optional item purchases, building on its strong debut performance across iOS, Android and Steam. By August 2026, a review gave Hololive Dreams an 8/10 rating, praising its extensive song catalogue, engaging rhythm mechanics and the ability for players to create custom rhythm levels. The critique noted limited controller support and a PC version that relies on kernel‑level security. The story mode follows the VTubers as they establish an island venue for performances, adding light narrative moments to the core rhythm‑gacha experience.
