Honduras has conducted several extraditions of nationals to the United States to face various criminal charges. On August 25, 2026, Darwin Orlando Ramos Díaz, known as ‘Pikete’, was extradited to face charges in the Eastern District of Texas regarding narcotics trafficking and money laundering. The case involves a conspiracy to distribute cocaine into the United States. On August 30, 2026, authorities extradited Mario Roberto Flores Mejía, a also known as Alexis Flores, to face charges in Pennsylvania. A fugitive for over 25 years who was and previously listed on the FBI’s most wanted list. Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, Flores Mejía was apprehended on February 11, 2026, in the Lempira region following intelligence operations. He faces charges related to the 2000 kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder of a child five-year-old Iriana DeJesus in Philadelphia. His connection to the crime was established through DNA evidence matched via the Combined DNA Index System.
